# Azure Boards

Connect Azure Boards to track [human tasks](/docs/team-workflows) as work items in Azure DevOps. Each work item is assigned to a person and includes the agent’s request and the relevant vulnerability.

## Access required

Connect with a Microsoft work account that can access your Azure DevOps organization and project. The integration needs permission to read and update work items, assign project members, and receive work item updates.

Authentication uses [Microsoft Entra OAuth](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/integrate/get-started/authentication/entra-oauth?view=azure-devops). Your Microsoft administrator may need to approve access, and a project administrator may need to complete the connection.

## Connect Azure Boards

1. Open **Settings → Integrations → Azure Boards**.
2. Select **Connect**, sign in with your Microsoft work account, and approve access.
3. Choose the Azure DevOps organization and project where tasks should appear.
4. Select a work item type and configure the fields required by your project.

For example, your team can use the Task work item type and an area path dedicated to security work. The people assigned tasks need access to that project and area.

## Complete a request

Use the work item’s discussion to provide updates or ask questions. Once you complete the requested action, move the work item to a completed state in your project’s process.

An agent might ask you to deploy a proposed fix. After deployment, confirm the environment and change in the work item so the agent can continue with the right context.

## Troubleshooting

### The project is unavailable

Check that your Microsoft account belongs to the connected Azure DevOps organization and has access to the project.

### A work item cannot be created or assigned

Check the required fields for its type, permissions on the selected area path, and the recipient’s project access.
